That Time We Wandered Into A Cult

A couple of years ago I went on a road trip with my bestie, Sara. We had a blast exploring good old Gatlinburg, TN. Our trip included Dollywood, the aquarium, the space needle, and some honky tonk bars.

One thing you should know about Sara is that she LOVES roadside attractions. I got her a book about all the different stops in America and she is slowly making her way to them. So naturally this trip would be no exception.

That is what brought us to this place: The Minister’s Treehouse in Crossville, TN.

My Favorite Wild Animals

If you need to know anything about me, you should know that I LOVE animals and I LOVE taking photos of them. I’m not a big fan of zoos…I understand the need to learn more about different species in order to help with their conservation. However, I feel like many zoos mistreat their animals, barely giving them enough space to walk around. I like to see animals free in the wild, where they are supposed to be.

Fortunately, I have had great opportunities to soak in wild life on some of my adventures around the world. Here are some of my favorite animals that I have photographed.

Embroidery Tips To Be A Pro

Embroidery is a great way to show off your brand. It shows professionalism, adds a touch of class to your garment, and keeps your brand visible. For over twenty years, we’ve embroidered thousands of logos onto thousands of polo shirts, dress shirts, jackets, and bags…so we’ve learned a thing or two. For a company’s logo to look its best on embroidered products, it’s best to keep a few things in mind.

Keep it simple.

Embroidery is is best when tasteful and clean. Stitching creates a thicker line than ink, so a design that looks great on your tote bags and tumblers can become a messy blob with no detail when embroidered. Think of some of the most recognizable apparel you see in the consumer world: Polo, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. All these brands have simple logos that are instantly recognizable and make a lasting impact. When it comes to embroidery, less is more!

The Moment I Was Hooked

The Greek Islands. Sunrise. 25,000 feet up. Empty plane. Toffee cookies.

Hooked-1

What could be better? I was so pumped to explore Santorini once we landed. To my surprise I was underwhelmed as soon as we got on land. Where are the cliffs? The white washed homes? The crystal clear water? All I could see was a hilly, beach town. It was pretty, but not what my eyes always dreamed of, not what I expected from the plane ride. Were we staying in the right spot? I became worried….we made it to our hotel too early to check into our room. “Check in is at 12:00pm”. It was only 7:00am…..Ok, time to explore.

Fira was just waking up….we were some of the only people walking around. From our hotel, we just started walking up. Straight up to a cobble stone street, white buildings with blue shutters everywhere. The smell of baking philo dough…gyro meat on it’s first turn on the rotisserie….baklava fresh out of the oven.
